Job Title: Men’s Recovery Center Primary Counselor
Credentials: MS, APC
Education Background: Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama from North Carolina School of the Arts in 2011. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in 2022.
Work History: Prior to becoming a counselor, Adam was working full-time as an actor. He is still a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA. Adam’s personal journey in recovery led to his initial interest in working within the addiction treatment field. He says that he was drawn to MARR specifically because he wholeheartedly agrees in the value of the community model of recovery. Adam began his practicum internship at MARR under Bob Day as a primary counselor intern at MRC in August 2021. Adam joined MARR as a full-time staff member in October 2022.
“MARR is truly a family. The support that the staff has for one another mirrors the support and level of community that we strive to cultivate with our clients. It’s a unique place. I get to work with a team of Residential Managers, Supervisors, and Family Counselors, in order to provide a dynamic support structure for those who are in treatment. In my particular role, I love working alongside the clients and seeing their growth first-hand as they hit various milestones both at MARR and in their own recovery.”
